Regenerative, small-scale farming for healthy plants, animals, and people.
About
Havilah Farm is owned and operated by mother and son team, Melissa and Elliot Shaull-Thompson. Nestled in the heart of My Lady’s Manor in the northern Maryland countryside, Havilah Farm consists of 55 acres of woodlands, meadows, and wetlands lovingly tended by the Shaull family for more than 75 years.
At Havilah Farm, we use a regenerative approach to agriculture which, at its core, is farming in harmony with nature. The following principles guide our work on the farm:
Diversity of plant and animal life leads to a healthier farm ecosystem and a more nutrient rich harvest.
Soil benefits from constant cover with organic matter and growing crops.
Allowing livestock to range freely on the land provides a rich source of compost contributing to healthy soil biology.
The complex structure of the soil is preserved by avoiding soil disturbance - minimizing tilling, and using only organic methods of fertilization.
This is our second year operating as a farm business. We are pleased to bring to market naturally grown flowers and herbs along with eggs from pasture-raised hens.
Honey and honey products coming soon!
